Four Herun Biopharm configurations (HF04-1 / HF04-2 / HF04-3 / HF04-4) compared side-by-side. Use this guide to choose the right kit based on sample type, interpretation method, packaging, and field scenario.
What this guide covers: All four Herun Biopharm configurations of the Bovine Early Pregnancy Rapid Test. Each kit detects Pregnancy-Associated Glycoproteins (PAG) via colloidal-gold immunochromatography, but they differ in (1) sample type — whole blood vs serum; (2) interpretation — three-line CBT vs two-line CT; and (3) packaging — bulk box vs single-dose pouch. The right choice depends on where the test is performed (lab or on-farm), the skill level of the operator, and your need for early detection vs cost-effectiveness.

Accept whole blood, serum, plasma.
No centrifuge required — true "on-site / on-farm" testing.
Specimens: fresh or stored at 2 – 8 °C, use within 3 days.
Earliest reliable detection: Day 28 post-breeding.
Best for streamlining workflow and reducing equipment dependence.
Accept serum / plasma only.
Requires centrifugation (extra 10 – 15 min prep).
Higher analytical sensitivity → Day 25 earliest detection.
Ideal for laboratory or fixed testing station with trained staff.
Lowest unit cost among the four configurations.
Whole blood: 2 drops (~60 µL) + 3 drops buffer; wait 5 sec before buffer.
Serum / Plasma (whole-blood kits): 1 drop (~30 µL) + 3 drops buffer.
Serum / Plasma (HF04-3): 4 drops (~120 µL) directly; no buffer.
Read results at 10 – 20 min; results after 20 min are invalid.
This is the most critical technical factor affecting real-world accuracy.
Format: T line (test) + C line (control). Simple "any T = positive" read.
Pregnant: C line + T line (no matter how faint).
Open: C line only.
Invalid: No C line.
⚠️ The challenge: weak T lines near the cutoff can be read differently by different operators.
Format: C (control) + B (built-in color reference) + T (test). T line compared to B line.
Not pregnant: T lighter than B, or T not visible.
Indeterminate: T similar to B → retest after 7 days.
Pregnant: T significantly darker than B, or T clearly visible while B is faint.
✅ Minimizes subjective error from weak positives — ideal for mixed-skill teams.
Reduce human error with mixed-skill teams → CBT (HF04-1 / HF04-2).
Simplest "yes/no" read with experienced operators → CT (HF04-4).
Earliest detection with lab conditions → CT HF04-3 (serum).
Objective interpretation to minimize disputes → CBT versions.
Available in 1 / 10 / 50 / 80 tests per box.
Each cassette in a foil pouch with desiccant.
Kit includes cassettes, droppers, assay buffer (whole-blood kits), and a paper IFU.
Designed for fixed-site bulk testing.
Single test per foil pouch.
IFU printed directly on the pouch — no separate paper insert.
Includes sampling accessories (EDTA tube + syringe) so the user does not need to bring any tools.
Designed for mobile / out-call / field scenarios.
Assay time: 10 – 20 minutes (read window).
Storage: 2 – 30 °C (room temperature).
Shelf life: 24 months from manufacture.
Optimal testing temperature: 15 – 45 °C (59 – 113 °F).
Principle: double-antibody sandwich + colloidal gold chromatography (PAG detection).
Balances convenience (whole blood, no centrifuge), accuracy (built-in B-line for objective reading), and value. The most reliable choice for most herds and mixed-skill teams.
Most economical whole-blood option. Choose this if your team is experienced and can confidently interpret weak positive T lines without the B-line reference.
Enables testing from Day 25 post-breeding — 3 days earlier than whole-blood versions. Most economical configuration. Requires centrifuge and trained lab personnel.
Self-contained kit with IFU printed on the pouch plus complete sampling accessories (EDTA tube + syringe). Designed for out-call and field-bag use.
Specimens (whole blood / serum / plasma) can be stored at 2 – 8 °C and used within 3 days.
Allow all materials and the test device to reach 15 – 25 °C before running the assay.
Read results at 10 – 20 minutes; results after 20 minutes are invalid.
Once the foil pouch is opened, the test cassette should be used within 1 hour.
Storage: 2 – 30 °C. Shelf life 24 months. Do not freeze. Keep away from direct sunlight.
This product is intended solely for early pregnancy detection in bovine and is not for diagnosing animal diseases.
Miscarriage or stillbirth can cause false-positive results. Risk factors include maternal malnutrition, mycotoxins in feed, illness, and trauma.
If the result is suspicious or indeterminate, retest after 7 – 10 days.
If the C line is absent, the test is invalid — repeat with a new cassette.
This product is for single use only — do not reuse cassettes or droppers.
